A quicklink – also commonly referred to as a master link – is an ingenious little piece of engineering that allows you to disconnect and reconnect two ends of a bicycle or motorcycle chain without the need for a specialized chain tool.
They’re small enough to easily tuck away in a pocket or backpack, and can quickly get you out of a jam if you snap your chain deep in the woods or far from home on the road.
What does this have to do with marketing and design? Well, I’ve always been drawn to what I like to consider as “timeless” solutions. I’m inspired by things that were made to work 70 years ago, that still get the job done today.
The quicklink is the perfect example of a simple solution that’s made to move you. I was just fortunate enough that the domain name hadn’t been claimed yet.
